Congressman Hank Johnson worried that North Korea nukes may cause Guam to "tip-over and capsize". A U.S. Admiral has reassured Johnson that the navy does not anticipate the island of Guam "tipping-over" as the result of a nuclear blast. Johnson was then declared mentally unfit and removed from Congress. *^_^*

Ok so let's give him the benefit of the doubt. Have islands ever capsized? I know the whole thing sounds ridiculous but i don't want to imagine I have all the answers, so I would want to know if this is even a possibility.
I mean an island is basically part of the same ground under the ocean, it is not something that is floating because if it was it would be moving around with the waves.
Is this man stupid or is there really such a thing as floating islands?

Which tells you all you need to know about "education"
>>136811953
Really makes me think...
>>136811953
No, Islands don't capsize.
Parts of them can slide and shift from massive earthquakes (far, far more powerful than all the Earth's nukes combined), but they don't flip over.
>>136811953
No, the man is an idiot. Continental shelves can collapse and land can submerge, but islands don't tip over and capsize. No natural islands float.
>>136811953
You know islands are the tops to underwater mountains right?
>>136810682
Tipping over sounds unlikely to me. but what about tsunamis as a result of nearby nuclear blasts in the water?
