An issue we face with google which is very prominent in language, is that people use the phrase 'google it' with regularity when told to research something.

What are effective alternatives to stop this phenomenon?

We need to help purge it from regular vernacular and replace it with something that would flow as 'google it' does.

Then once the best verb(s) is discovered, there needs to be propaganda stating the privacy violations google does with regularity and in order to combat that: we need to remove them from the verb status they have acquired.

We will never know unless we Google it.
>>
>>136781692
Nobody says 'Bing it' or ever will, it doesn't need to be search engine specific. It just simply needs to remove the power Google has gained as being the majority share phrase when being told to research something.

Google wants it to stop being a verb, idiot. If it falls too far into common usage, the government can rule that the word has outgrown them and anyone is free to use the verb. It happened to Refrigerator brand cooling units.

Do the same thing we did with Pepe.
Turn google into our next Alt-right (hate symbol).
Make the word google and their logo so toxic that the left turns on it.
>>
>>136783191
The case ruled that the word still referred to Google more often than it didn't, so Google was able to keep it. It will probably be retried again eventually to see if the circumstances have changed. Lego has had to defend their brand name many, many times.
>>
>>136784288
Which could be in how many years and lobbying makes this so unlikely to transpire. Isn't our goal to shrivel their numbers and then give rise to alternatives?

I don't like the idea of banking on something that may or may not happen, opposed to something we may have more control over. With this method if successful, it could lead to others telling someone to use 'this' instead of google and then to not say google it. Then they tell 1 person, they tell 1 person and so on.

>>136784239
Do you have any proposition on how to do this, are you proposing images of beheaded people and google over their faces telling them to silence themselves or what's in mind?

No. We don't want to give the impression that we hate google. We want people to think that we and other bigots identify with google.

Start making memes celebrating nazis and white power and use the google logo to replace the swastika.

Or better yet use google as the new symbol of discrimination against women. Capitalize on the latest controversy, fan the flames. Make it seem like google really does discriminate against women and minorities and the alt-right loves it and praises google for it.

>>136784288
The reason Google isn't a genericized verb is because people only use it to refer to Google.

Nobody says "I googled it on bing" or shit like that.
>>
>>136785431
You make a great point, you need to call them out and shame them whenever someone says 'google it' as they are giving power to a corrupt entity that doesn't believe in freedom of information and sells your private information with regularity.
>>
>>136781288
I have started evaluating myself before I go to sleep based on how many times I used google instead of the alternatives
to be fair most of the time the other search engines are good enough
>>
"Search it", "Look it up", whatever you say
DO NOT SAY
"Google it"

Whenever you hear someone say "Google it" it is your duty to correct them as they are feeding an entity that sells your private information[1] and doesn't believe in freedom of information[2].

[1][2] sources pointing at it occurring, numerous times on a large scale.

Then somewhere on the image showing search engines that do not violate the same wrongs google perpetuates.

----

Rough draft of what I think the image should look like, thanks for the help brainstorming guys.

I am in tech. We do go out, we do go to bars, have dinner with friends, do physical activity. In fact, we do it in style.
I don't LARP, I don't watch anime or read comics. I do play some online games on my PC, with my wife. I am nearly 50 and me wife is in late 20's, former model now techie. Finncially secure, I own a maserati among 3 other cars. Multiple vacationa a year, dozens of concerts including meeting the talent. I can have tats, wear shorts to the office (which I usually work at home save a day or two I go in for meetings). I can speak freely and curse/swear in meetings. I get all kinds of silly perks like office going to new movie releases or an entire day the whole office goes to volunteer at a food bank. We have a cyclist club for people that cycle into work or do competitive practice at lunch. I don't have set hours. Food regularly paid for, at minimum on wed and Firday. Mandatory 2 trips a year to go to conventions and training (Usually LA/LAs Vegas/New York) - and I get to pick which ones I personally want - all expenses paid (bring wife along). No I'm not a neckbeard and I am not the exception either. When I was single I was never without a date when I wanted

The only meaningful attack against Google would be if Russian and/or Chinese search engines became more user friendly.

We have to give our personal data to someone. It's better to split up who receives each part of it.
>>
>>136781288
It doesn't matter.
'Google it' may as well be part of the English language now. It just means search the web for it.
Changing peoples default search engine is key. They can still 'google it' using startpage.
If a normie used my comp they'd be joogle free and wouldn't even know it
>>
>>136792049
This. We need to pressure browsers to actively degoogle as a default as well.

The most promising dev team for this would be Brave. Another would be Firefox, but Mozilla is pretty cucked so you'd have to propose it as a privacy initiative.

I personally think that DuckDuckGo has the most potential to replace google. It's good enough as a search engine and has enough name recognition to viably replace Google as the industry standard. Plus it has the "does not track" you rhetoric already in place so you can poise it as more privacy conscious.

Yandex is another good one. It's Russian and has webmail services like gmail as well. The Russian thing is a downside for most people after all this Russian hacker shit though.

Thoughts? I'd like to hear suggestions.
>>
>>136785282
definitely that is a good idea. we could easily make this a thing now, we have momentum and more genius level autism brain power. i would venture into replacing "Jew" with Goog, or Google. the Googles are out to destroy the world. You mean Google? no I mean Jews. replace usage of word Jew with Google, it's run by Jews anyway.

I definitely like the idea of tarnishing the actual name of "Google" that will do wonders. In both exposing the Googles designs, and in destroying Google.

I think Bing is the choice now. Bing it sounds WAY better and easier than DDGo it. fuck DDgo. Bing it Bitch. lets Bing these (((Googs))) down

They actually don't want people to use the phrase google it or googling. They want people to say Google search.
>>
>>136792769
The nice thing about fox is the ease of transition from chrome. Think of it as a stepping stone.
I feel startpage is the best search. It's privacy focused above all else and it uses joogles results.
The main problem I had when I ditched joogle as a search engine was crappy search results.
Startpage fixes this beautifully.
