Google gives the best results when you aren't looking up anything political, does a good job guessing what I'm looking for if I misspell or word something incorrectly, what I'm looking for always shows up in the 1st 3 links.
Duck Duck Go is what I would use if I were looking up anything that was political, because it gives fairly unbiased results. however it stuggles with guessing what I'm looking for if I don't know the correct words to put in the search bar.
Yahoo suffers this problem as well, but they are also politically biased.
Bing is absolute garbage. Not once I have tried to use bing and not been frustrated by how awful the results it give me are. I can look something very simple up and I will get links to completely unrelated things because that site has more clicks and had one sentence saying something similar to what I was looking for in the sidebar of the website. Plenty of people here have cared about all the things leaked about Google over the years, but that's the problem, we're the fringe. There is always a final straw that breaks the camels back, and this may well be it.

I liken this to Gamer Gate because that was an issue that so clearly divided people in both the private and public sectors, it was a clear ethical question for people to face. With this now, the general public has become painfully aware that the wool is constantly being pulled over their eyes (something /pol/ users now so well they have completely abandoned MSM), and the question becomes what they are going to do about it.

Google is mainstream. Google is normie shit. Now everyone is being being forced to confront the issues put forward by this and decide where they stand on it, and these are actual issues that deal with somebodies understanding of the world. I hold that MANY people hold the same opinions as those in the Google memo, and the fact that the author was fired forces them to question whether they think that's right.

tl;dr
We are in the process of a pendulum swing to the right, conservatism and traditional values are making a comeback. This event will piss off many people and "redpill" many more.
