Even in WW1 the US was strongly pro-German until some (((high spheres))) started to use their economic power to turn the country in your favour and eventually join the war because you promised to cede Israel to the International Jewelry.

In WW2 Japan only attacked the US after a trade embargo that was also encouraged by certain (((individuals))) with strong economic power. And had this attack not happened they would have probably joined the war before the end.

I wouldn't say strongly pro-German per say. The upper classes were mostly English and they definitely identified with England more. But a very large number of citizens (Maybe even a majority) were from Germany and still retained their culture and language. So the normal populous were probably in favor or indifferent to Germany but the people running the show certainly were for England all the way.

No one knew about the "holocaust" till the war was over. Joining in another world war was seen in a very negative light to the majority of Americans especially as we were still recovering from the Great Depression. America wouldn't have joined the war if it wasn't for the nips bombing pearl harbor.
And let me also remind you that we only declared war on Japan. It was Germany that declared war on us after that.

If the Axis played their cards right the US might have joined them. There were rather large movements in the US for them to do so. Remember that the majority of the US white population had a German background. Powerful American figures like Lindbergh were strongly in support of Germany warning of the threat of Communism.
It just so happens they were right as well.
