I'm being overly verbose, but my point is pretty simple. All current SJW infections have been institutions divorced from the real world, or companies that produce consumer media. Actual hard science, engineering, etc. has been under attack for a long time. But this is, as far as I know, the first time we've seen an SJW infection take hold in a company that doesn't produce media, but actually designs new technologies.


The culture war finally spilled into the open shortly after the Trump inauguration, with prominent youtubers like Laci Green suddenly getting attacked by their own for asking questions. To quote Heath Ledger's Joker, "When the chips are down, these civilized people... They'll eat each other." And it seemed this was the beginning of the end. We were winning. We STILL ARE winning. This isn't meant to be demoralizing. The fact is we continue to devastate our opponents. We win battle after battle despite the seemingly insurmountable forces arrayed against us. And there seems to be no defeat in sight for us.

This entire culture war has given me anxiety since it started several years back. We are going to win decisively. But if the infection is so complete, the nearly every institution in our society is going to fail and collapse. Somehow we, a loose collective of shitposters, basement dwellers, and memelords, outwitted every institution in our society by standing up, looking around, and saying a few obvious truths.

One point I'll make is that you could be confusing symptom and disease. I don't think that the SJW culture war is the cause of institutional rot. Rather, the disease of civic and institutional rot gives rise to symptoms like SJW-ism, financial collapse, foreign wars.
Decline is wider and deeper than just the surface level madness you see in a select few industries. If you think "real world" institutions are immune from decay, you are badly mistaken. Over the last 30 years or more, the modern Media has laid waste to public discourse at all levels across the world. Deep intellectual criticism is ignored, smothered, mocked, while shallow soundbites and naked propaganda dominate. Governments and powerful special interests are delighted, but the Media is ultimately to blame for this. The number of leaders who brought about this change are relatively small.

It has become impossible to discuss anything seriously in the modern mass public sphere, especially when it opposes special interests. Some try, but their voices are lost in the gale of MSM crowing. This place is a response to such conditions.

Without robust intellectual and introspection, debate, criticism, the institutions of any civilisation will dysfunction, decline, and be overrun by corruption and ideology. We are far into this process.
