Whenever I go to a public library I only ever see minorities using the computers, students at the desks and one old guy reading a book.

Breddy cool/good, although their utility now isn't nearly as pronounced or necessary as it once was with access to information being near-universal and greater than it's ever been.
If anything, public-style organizations like libraries would be better used at this point in giving people access to high-initial capital input objects, goods, or services which they may need or could have niche use(s) like industrial equipment, 3D printers, AR/VR equipment, etc.

Those are called makerspaces or something similar thereof, if I remember correctly.

I went to a library for the first time in a decade a few weeks back. It was a surprisingly nice experience. Big kids' section with a bunch of parents and their kids, lots of people of all ages using the computers or reading, a fully manned desk (indicating good funding), very clean, up-to-date section of magazines and newspapers, etc.

Really surprising, and really quite gratifying too. I wasn't expecting it.

They should rip the Internet out of all libraries. There's no good way to keep the porn out without """censorship""" and it serves little benefit anyway. It should be redpilling poor people on the (((forces))) that control them with books and help with finding info.

Instead of shunning the bums they should be providing showers so they don't stink while they are there. They could literally be getting jobs if they can learn info or skills from books.

Anyone found to be dropping off kids to go apeshit and wreck the place should be banned and fined $1,000.

My flag isn't ironic. Just because I subscribe to an ideology doesn't mean I support every fucking thing that has been done in the name of it. Burning information is an atrocity. If a nigger comes to a library to read then it would be the first one I ever saw, but I wouldn't kick him out unless it brought screaming nigglets. Homeless need to show up not soaked in piss or vomit or be turned away at the door. Like I said, there should be a dress code, you shouldn't need a full suit but no logo t-shirts, no sandals, skirts must be a certain length, no exposed cleavage ect.

Ottawa. Not a nice place in a lot of ways, but the suburbs are at least pretty prosperous. Even the little satellite towns nearby are doing well. My dad lives about half an hour outside the city, in a little podunk place, but they've got a parade and fireworks every Canada day, and even their own little library (which he apparently likes but I've never been to). Also a local school, so the kids don't need to be shipped into the city every day. Not bad for a tiny farming town.
>>
>>136657470
Logo T-shirts are not allowed in almost any formal places. But if that's to harsh then I'd say no t-shirts with images of or promoting any violence, ideology, or controversial subject, or logos from companies or organizations that promote those things. Leave your "this is what a feminist looks like" shirt at home.

I wanted to rent some textbooks to teach myself physics because I prefer working with hard copies rather than PDFs, but most of the science titles I found were for children or casuals.

Unfortunately this is a flaw I've seen with libraries - they don't seem to stock rigourous textbooks intended for serious students. Shelling out cash for every subject I may want to explore in depth is not realistic, so I guess I have to put up with ebooks.
>>
>>136657470
I kind of agree, the Nazi's should have broad cast the contents of that book to the world, it would have removed all shadow of doubt that the forces they were plagued with needed to be removed. And we wouldn't be faced with that plague again in the current year.
>>
Libraries are solely for poor/homeless people, old people and immigrants. A cheap e-reader lets you carry a library's worth of pirated books with you wherever you go, and even if you went to a library do you really want to read something that was likely read by someone on the can?
>>

>mfw in library school because I loved books and wanted to help my community but my program and profession is pozzed to the fucking core

Make no mistake, libraries alongside schools are the great indoctrinators of liberal cucked nonsense. I had a class where analyzed children's books for racism and sexism and should promote books that encourage race-mixing, tranny bullshit, and homo faggotry. There's even a movement in libraries to get fucking drag queens to read to little kids. Make my words anons, use the library simply to pick up books. Do not stay long or let your children anywhere near there.
>>
>>136657896

See, this is the problem. If you're for people using public facilities the way they're intended then why are you banning people over such banal things? You can make a case about certain shirts or logos for being banned at a the library. If someone came in there wearing a shirt with a swastika or hammer and sickle or the antifa logo on it, then yeah sure. Kick them out. But the skirt lengths and covered cleavage is completely unnecessary. If some lady wants to read some books in the library then let her do it, I fail to see what's so wrong if she's showing some cleavage
>>
>>136658210

It's not so much that it has a dirty underside as that it has no sense of community. Nobody in Ottawa ever talks to anyone else, and you can get dirty looks just by saying 'hello' to someone passing you on the street. There's no such thing as neighbors here, and the people you live near are going to be as much strangers as the people halfway across the city.

It's great if you like privacy, because people *will* leave you to your own devices. It's terrible if you want to actually meet people outside of specially designated times/areas (cons, clubs, etc).
>>

People wear those in the hopes that someone will either be uncomfortable around them or confront them, not things that should happen in a library.

Absolutely incorrect, too much reading doesn't make people disobidient, the content of what is being read and weather it's truthful is very important. If something like Feminism/marxism which is built upon lies regarding percieved transgressions. Whereas it's provable that a large and vocal amount of Jewish people want to destroy people of European heritage. They make no effort to hide it. Unless you think Kalergi was lying and or never existed, and his plans aren't being implemented by influential people today.

I'd say that's more or less accurate. There's pockets where other things happen, but it's pretty rare.

But you might be surprised at how many things are actually missing. It's easy to take for granted all the stuff that other people do in a more social city. Introverts might often style themselves as loners, but I'd say it's more true that they're social scavengers, living off the community other people build.

I say this as someone who is very definitely an introvert. But for a city the size of Ottawa, all the tabletop/P&P gaming groups are tiny, not to mention rare. You've got to be willing to drive like, half an hour or more to get to a game, and it's pretty sure someone else there will have had to come just as far from the other direction.

Basically, unless you've already got a group of friends, or do stuff with family, don't expect anything.

Okay but isn't a practical reason at all. I think the lady has the right to look her best when she's out in the public, just like how any man has the right to look his best out in public too. And if a couple of guys get distracted by her tits then who the fuck cares? They're adults and I think they're more than capable of making their own decisions in life. Those women aren't walking around with nothing but panties and fucking nipple tassels. If you're gonna ban cleave you might as well just ban women for having big tits

Supposedly nobody would go to the Senators games because they build the stadium in the middle of nowhere, meanwhile tickets in New York were going for $1000+. So I started watching streams of the games myself, and I quite enjoyed them and the team's playing style actually. This is one thing they should actually move to a sane location. People will come, even introverts.

>but I'd say it's more true that they're social scavengers, living off the community other people build.
I think about that a lot. Social capital is the lifeblood of a society. If people like us refuse to go out and talk to people, we're really just benefiting from services/institutions/systems that never would have been created if every single person was just like us.

Nice false comparison. A library isn't a place you go to hook up. It's a place you go to learn. She can wear he booty shorts and crop top at the mall, at a concert, coffee shop, pretty much anywhere she wants that isn't a place of education like a school or library. In those places she should be required to cover up.

I understand that you put women on a pedestal and think they should do whatever they want because they are stronk and empowered but women dress like that for the sole reason of turning heads, in the same way a guy wearing an SS uniform is trying to get you to look at him. It's not appropriate in a learning environment. Be a whore somewhere else.

As long as people are going to the library to learn I don't think it terribly matters what they wear so long as there's a minimum clothing requirement. i.e: Closed in shoes, shorts and a shirt. And you're the one that's making false comparisons that wearing a shirt with a swastika is on the same level as some lady showing a bit of cleavage underneath her shirt.

Again, people have their own agency and are fully capable of making their own decisions. The woman sitting across from you with the cleavage will only be distracting if you let it. Nobody is stopping them for learning at the library. Except for you because you find certain clothing choices morally offensive and that you apparently know what's best for everyone.
