How much interaction do you have with the IDF?

I visited the West Bank and was surprised how prevalent Israeli security forces there were. I was stopped going from Ramallah to Nablus at a makeshift road block by IDF.

More than what is necessary, there are at least 3 checkpoints between where I live and Ramallah/Nablus which are each about 30-40km from where I live. They mostly stop cars at night. They also sometimes park their military vehicles outside of towns at nightime.

The Jews can't really burn down villages since everything is built off rock, buildings and such. They mostly burn or pick our olive and fig trees.
Schools operate fine, no one is scared of being bombed.

That sounds really shitty OP. I also went to Nabi Saleh to help out with the olive harvest and to act as international observers. Earlier that day some settlers had come down to the village and thrown rocks at the Palestinians there.
I also stayed in a village called Burin and the IDF raided it at night and I got woken up by stun grenades.

All in all, the entire experience was pretty depressing, and I was only there for a week. Every Palestinian I met there though was super friendly and nice to us Solidarity to you, my friend.

The West Bank isn't really much of a shithole. It's under military occupation but they have schools and internet and hospitals, and their own police in the PA.
Some of the new buildings in downtown Ramallah are pretty fancy and modern.
I know there's a lot of poverty too but it's not all bad.
