Note that /r/politics hasn't been a default for years and has since been refined through moderation purges and echo-chamber effects into the purest form of cancer. I shouldn't know this much about Reddit but as left-leaning and naive as its userbase generally is, that sub is definitely not representative. Reactions on /r/programming, /r/technology and /r/google are looking fairly sane.
