No he's Danish, but I dress like it's the Edwardian era. I went to brooks beothers looking for a raincoat, double breasted, below knee, double breasted.
To my surprise they had hired a woman to work there's, my salesman woman had suggest an above knee raincoat single breasted, I told her that a raincoat so short defeats the purpose of it being a raincoat and I want something traditional. She kept insisting I take this cheap short jacket (the kikes might have convinced others a short jacket is the style but I would not fall for it I know they're just cheap) and I insisted I wanted a below knee double breasted, she said they don't sell that anymore so I left.

>>
>>136531247
yeah, but outside an interview, there's no reason to wear a tie. I work at a tech company and everyone always dresses pretty casual. Anytime someone wears a tie, they're teased and people say, "Oh, how was the interview?". I always wear a collared shirt, but a tie is too formal. A tie is like, for weddings, the courthouse, an interview, a Christmas photo, but never an everyday thing.
>>
>>136531404
Tailored today means cut skin tight, the sack fit is normal. It should hang down the sides so it's comfortable, tails should be long so they remain tucked. Now a days the shirts are cut so slim, collars are small and spread wide, no pleats in the back, and small tails. Even my proper rise pants (covering the belly button) sometimes can't contain the modern shirt styles they're cut so short.

There's no point in spending that much on shoes unless you're literally an English lord. Nobody, and I mean nobody, will be able to tell the difference.

>>136533867
a lot of 'normies' try to get into fashion with such a bad perspective like OP's picture.

They just see things that are bright or expensive and wear them. They then tack on novelty value items like bowties or fedoras.

Because the bar of the average wardrobe is so low, minimal effort into a style is seen by them as amazing. Kind of like how skinny DYELs just need to look "tonned" to appear muscular.

this is a good inspiration guide imo

I'm not projecting. This is basic social stuff and it's telling you don't know it. Find your spark to start having confidence. Fashion is a great place to start because it automatically gives you a presence.

However, if keep being a beta and have good fashion, you'll stick out even more as anti-social. Confidence and good clothes go hand in hand.

Perhaps just go back to playing "redpilled" video games and leave the thread.

Great taste, anon. I grew up around gentlemen who dressed this way. I'm a woman but I love menswear. I am slowly converting my husband to this way of dressing, albeit a more subdued version. Once I got him to understand the philosophical and historical dimension he started approaching his wardrobe very differently. Men today receive no education where clothing and its importance is concerned.

Untrue. Take a look at the shoes made by Yohei Fukuda and other Japanese cordwainers and their very far above and beyond RTW.

>Alden is pretty much the highest end shoe where there's a noticeable difference in terms of appearance and durability. Beyond that it's just name brand vanity.

Frankly, Alden's attention to detail is a bit off - to sloppy. Really only it's gunboat is a iconic shoe. For most of shoes the aesthetic is blobby because of the lasts. For RTW look at Gaziano & Girling and Vass. Hell, even Crockett and Jones is better.

Exactly. More than 100 years ago. Since the 1920s the proper collar for black tie and morning dress is the turndown collar. Society and propriety decided the turndown collar is the preferable collar.

The reason why is the coloured tie on an exposed white collar band is displeasing to the eye. With white tie it's acceptable because it's white on white, so it blends together.

100% false, in the 1920's men wore notch lapel dinner jackets with flap pockets. It's only when the evening tail coat started becoming less common and the tuxedo become more formal that this peak lapel only rule started. If you go back a hundred years even morning coats had 2-3 buttons and notch lapels

>100% false, in the 1920's men wore notch lapel dinner jackets with flap pockets.

And people in the 1920s made mistakes too. The first dinner jackets appeared in the 1860s and it was peak lapel. Years later some misfortunate people purchased dinner jackets made with the step lapel (like they do today) but that was based on ignorance.

Never ever is the step lapel correct for dinner and morning jackets. Did it happen in the past? Yes. Was it correct? No.

thanks, its hard to come across Victorian styled clothing without it either being $500+ or for Halloween, and they're usually made from poor quality synthetic materials.
I cant stand the overpriced thin cotton tees, short shorts, and high wasted jeans that every girl and her mother wears, so I usually resort to high-end second hand stores for my attire.

>>
>>136540171

It's an advert. Just because something happened in the past doesn't mean it also didn't deviate from accepted norms at that time. Some charlatan clothes seller tried to dupe the public with his take on the style. Just like what happened in the 70s with ruffled shirt fronts and crazed dinner suit colours. Just like what happens today with royal and navy blue dinner suits.

Neither one of those is a step lapel. Both the peak lapel and shawl collar (which technically doesn't have a lapel) are fine. The step lapel is never correct. Ever. Has someone tried to pass it off as correct in an advert? Sure. Have people worn it? Yes. Was it correct? No.

Yes business suits, and until the invention of the stroller suit at the end of the 19th century the morning coat was a business suit. Black tie was for lounging that's why it was originally made with a shawl collar.
Notch is perfectly acceptable for black tie historically, yes I agree peak looks better and should always be chosen over notch but notch is perfectly acceptable in a historical setting. I used to be of the peak only crowd but I realized it's not a formal garment there's no reason for it to be peak only

It used to be that I'd disagree with you, but you're actually completely right. I used to be extremely anxious and didn't give a fuck about how I dressed. I couldn't see the point to dressing in nice clothes and just wore whatever I got at christmas. After a while though I actually did start putting some thought into it, and after I started dressing in semi-decent clothes I felt a lot less self-conscious about myself, I never realised how much it was affecting my opinion of myself. I've become a lot more confident and outgoing ever since I started actually caring about how I dressed.

Sure it might not be the same for everyone, but it can certainly help with confidence if you're a little self-conscious like I am.

Peak is without a doubt 100% better looking, with the silk facing of the lapel it stands out and looks good in a way notch doesn't, but notch isn't incorrect it's just more casual that's it and a tuxedo is a semi formal suit. Before the new rules were written it was just worn by men who didn't feel like wearing tails, they still wore their white tie waistcoat and bow tie just changed the jacket.
I would always recommend a peak or shawl over a notch but notch isn't incorrect just more casual.
Get a peak first, then a shawl and if you still want another jacket get a notch
I don't really care for double breasted tuxedos personally but if you're a double breasted guy get that instead and don't ever get a notch

>Notch is perfectly acceptable for black tie historically

We'll have to part company here and agree to disagree. Did it exist historically? Yes. Mistakes happen throughout time. That was one of them.

Was is it appropriate? No. The peak lapel for morning jackets and black and white tie has always been the appropriate one.

No. Don't do the last. If you want a third jacket (and you're not overweight) the double-breasted dinner jacket w/ peak lapels is a better choice than a single breasted one w/ step lapels. And you don't have to muck about with a cummerbund or waistcoat, too.

>He went to the office with his brown belt.

Well, if he had a correct suit it wouldn't have had belt loops at all. It would have had side adjusters. That's what happens w/ one goes off the peg.

Black in the City is not the entirety of London, btw. By "the City" we mean the financial district (and to an extent Canary Wharf).

Black here means a black leather cap toe Oxford shoe with no punch outs. Single leather sole, bevelled at the waist.

Finance, assurance, and the legal professions are the most hidebound. If someone is an architect or in advertising the rules are much more relaxed, as they are for a teller at a bank branch in Hackney.
>>

Kent wang might be good for slimmer fits, I never got their shirts but I heard it's slim

Mens consignment stores are good. If you shop at banana you should just buy some staple pieces but mix it up like gap, hm, uniqlo, even forever 21 has some decent shit that's inexpensive. Just steer clear of what's "trendy".

Get a pair of fitted slacks (flat front), one or two pairs of jeans (black or dark blue), a few white and black t shirts, one nice fitted suit (navy, grey or black), pair of decent dress shoes, tennis shoes, work boots and casual boots. One black belt. Black socks. One fitted white dress shirt that can be casual or worn with a suit (this means get it fitted or buy something that actually isn't baggy). Black and white tank for around the house.

Work out. Get fit. Look good in basics. Then add a decent denim jacket that actually fits (bottom of jacket hits above belt line). Also get one decent winter coat and buy something nice.

I don't know anything about the orient, from what I've heard Hong Kong is really great though you can get savile row quality for a much lower price than in London.

Those jeans are just a tad too tapered at the bottom. But that's still pretty decent.

honestly props to you, drugs are fun in the moment and the right ones can open your eyes to the mysteries of the world but once you come down and have to face reality again, well horrible situations can feel twice as bad. Tattoos done right can look nice, i myself have a tattoo in a hidden location, I went to a tattoo artist that specialized in realism and paid over 400 for a red rose. Was it worth it four years later? meh i probably wouldn't get it again given a second chance.
Stay clean, clear headed and proper anon. You're the one who'll push society further.

i like this one, its not too revealing, and if she wears a nice piece of jewelry and/or a veil there will be a reason to expose the chest area like that. My mother handmade her wedding dress with her sister and mother (they were all seamstresses) and it looked similar to that except it had the 80's puffball shoulders and was embroidered.

>braces

Generally not permitted in the City, I'm afraid. They are the best solution to gravity, but because people take off their jackets and no longer wear waistcoats (centralised HVAC) braces are a huge faux pas.

>not wearing a short raincoat when riding on the bicycle through the metropolitan areas
You probably take the bus, hm?

I would never recommend jeans, they're carpenters clothing
For basics I would suggest a few ties, burgundy and navy are two good simple colours
A navy or charcoal suit are the two starter colours
For a shirt whites, they're the easiest to match ties and stuff with a plain white and white with stripes is good
Black shoes
Tank tops are under shirts, keep them white I got mine at honest ends for $2 each, you shouldn't spend much money on these
I like charcoal socks better than black, they don't stand out as much with a navy suit and match your charcoal suit
Pants on greys are good for casuals too, you cans wear a checked shirt without a jacket sleeves rolled up with different shades of grey better than any other colour in my opinion

She doesn't wear jewellery, the bible says not to adorn yourself in jewels or elaborate hairstyles
It's hard to find clothes now for women that cover your body up, I never realised how hard it was until I had to shop for my fiancée

You're welcome

Shouldn't AC encourage the use of a waistcoat? At my work it's cool enough to be in a 3 piece because of the AC

I don't ride a bicycle too many Chinese drivers in Toronto that will hit you and drive away
I like walking better anyway when I don't work
I walk an hour and a half to the gym

Just read all your posts, your fashion sense is esoteric but I dig it, you really should start a channel about pre war fashion, you seem to have a very interesting perspective.

Btw you probably do have a touch of the autism, but it's the kind of autism a lot of people like.

Can't live without jeans. Rocky balboa slim black (no more skinny jeans you faggots). Charcoal socks are a good suggestion.

I lived in HK for two years. Most the tailors prey on the tourists who think a suit can be made in a few days. It can't. A reputable tailor is W. W. Chan. You're looking at a minimum of $1500 and more likely $2000+ per suit (plus airfare, hotel. food, etc.)

You need a 2-3 fittings over a few months. Once your pattern is made (irrespective of your race) then future suits can be made with that template provide to don't become overweight.

Everyone forgets this. Your dry cleaner most likely does NOT know how to care for a good suit. He'll iron the fuck out of it, pressing down the canvas and even putting a shine on the cloth. You don't need to have it cleaned often, but you need to make sure you have a cleaner you knows how to properly care for it. Most places don't have this level of service.

Maybe I'll start a written blog, whenever these dress like a white man threads pop up I go into them but get called an autistic fedora so I don't bother with it, this is the first time I've been able to discuss clothing with anyone on /pol/ it's been fun.

Pretty much the only good thing this guy is wearing is that jacket. That belt is so off. The boots are too clean. The sweater is ok if it's freezing out. The jeans are too whiskered and the rolls at the bottom are just one too many. Bro is trying way too hard. If it was just a bit less put together it wouldn't be so faggy
