I don't think you're far off. I think they're already telegraphing their plan. Republicans will continue to fall 1 or 2 votes short to pass any legislation, with the only things getting done being globalist concessions like the debt ceiling increase and some minor tax cut.

Then I expect the media to turn to the 2018 races by Thanksgiving with a complete defeatist attitude by R's. They intentionally throw the house and maintain 50 in the Senate. Dems proceed with Impeachment and everyone claims nothing can be done while this goes on. I doubt he actually gets removed but by then the 2020 race will have started. At this point, and I've gone back an forth with it a lot, I think trump ultimately has the upper hand in case shit actually goes down.
