The problem of obesity isnt the fucking food its the lack of self control and most kids hardly do any physical after school activities. I used to teach at a high school and the coaches basically had 10 kids for their programs out of 400. Theres also shitloads of garbage activities kids choose to do over physical ones for school credits/instead of getting detention.

Unless you were at the front of the line, you would not get anything to drink. I graduated in 2005. Back then my school of 2000 had a minimum choice of burger, hot dog, chicken nuggets, and pizza served with fries. A salad bar operated and there was a daily rotating "normal" item.

They cut pizza and the FBLA started selling single slices of pizza hut pizza for a buck. It ended up slightly cheaper this way.

My grade school got moms to volunteer to come in and home cook for all the kids and it was top-notch. High school had a privately owned "Cafe" in it which served food three times a day: breakfast, morning break, and then lunch. Breakfast was amazing with eggs, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, hash browns, donuts.
