I don't get it. Why can't I buy carrots from Russia or tomatoes from Niger if they produce those things cheaper? Why can't I have my chlorinated chicken from Murrica or my hormone beef from Canada? Why no honey from China or milk from Argentina?
Why do we need to protect our inefficient farmers here in Europe, thus increasing agriproduct prices?

Because if we don't, we end up with a shitload of unemployed farmers who end up on welfare (aka more taxes payed by you) and a declining economy
I'm happy with my polish food, thank you very much. I don't need 50% chicken 50% water "chicken".

What exactly is preventing you from importing those products?

The EU.

I think we have like 0.5% of the workforce still working in agribusiness. I don't think we need to protect them.

Good for you. So because you are happy with your Polish food (probably is imported from the Netherlands...), I should not have the choice between Mexican imported pork or Romanian pork?

EU tariffs and regulations on agriculture products and massive subsidies for EU farmers.
Why can't we just have labeling laws? Just put a large sticker on each product saying from where it is and explain on one side of the product what's noteworthy about it (e.g. chlorinated chicken or GMOs).
