Before, schools would be teaching things like Critical Thinking, Arts and Music, and Home Economics.

One by one, as they gerrymandered districts and took over state legislatures, they changed school board policies and reduced funding.

Common Core was the left's attempt to bring back these things, but it was co-opted by for-profit educators pushing to enrich their high powered donors.

Today, the average IQ is considerably lower than it was in the 50's and 60's and people are more susceptible to lower IQ ideologies such as Conservatism and Libertarianism.

This is another reason why so many smart people are Progressives - it takes a high level of intelligence in order to think about putting the best interests of the nation before your own selfish desires.
