Why the fuck is california so relaxed about crime? It has two of the top 10 worst cities for crime (Oakland and LA) but keeps just giving criminals light sentences.
EVERY FUCKING CASE is the bare minimum sentence for even the most egregious offense. >Beat up an old lady?

lol, no. you get to spend 6months-1 yr in jail waiting for the court systems and then you get charged. most cases involve time served + probation so you see them getting out after waiting in jail. and no way in hell is anyone going to rape someone and not go to prison.
california has a 3 strikes law so you also get people going to jail to 25 to life for duis and other petty shit after they already have two strikes.
but by now mostly people in the justice system know nothing is being benefited by wasting our tax money on locking prisoners up as our prison population grows so huge. so drug cases automatically go to rehab instead, even dealers. so that could explain the minimum sentences.
