Why is it that whenever there is an open place for political discussion, with minimal moderation in place, it almost inevitably starts leaning to the right over time?
It's quite funny. I was here when we raided Hal Turner. I was here when project chanology brought in hundreds of thousands of fedora tippers. I was here when moot axed /new/ for its views. Yet here we are, on one of the biggest boards on the site. /pol/ itself has made the transition from traditional liberalism, libertarianism, ancaps, to national socialism and traditionalism and now the bloated cancer that is Trumpism. Every political group under the sun has come here to mock us, troll us, or convert us to their cause. Many who started out this way slowly became like us. Most of us will say we're larping to a certain degree, but stay here long enough and one starts to accept the realities of western society and politics that are not allowed to be discussed anywhere else. One does not need to be a white nationalist to understand the realities of things like race and crime.
I do not believe any of us here have the answers to the west's problems, but it's become clear to me that everywhere else, everyone is having debates and forming opinions while ignoring key arguments and evidence that simply is not allowed to be talked about. It's like trying to make a puzzle with half the pieces missing. Maybe that's where /pol/ takes a sharp turn to the right because "at we truly see", while everyone else plugs their ears and goes lalala because uncomfortable facts do not fit the narrative they've been fed.

Because the modern left has no personal notion of unity. They may appear on the surface level to be a united front, but that's merely lapdogs subscribing to popular trends in order to be part of the mob.
On a personal level every extreme leftist is interested solely in number 1. Every action taken is intended to procure the maximum amount of attention and sympathy. They are all focused on little more than proving how much more important their own victim complex is than everyone elses, hence why on the small-scale all leftist institutions inevitably break down to bickering and infighting.
They have no concept of a higher cause.

The way I like to think of it is a battle between realism and idealism.
If a person is uninformed, some kind of idealism is always better, because it offers something seemingly amazing and without downsides. It's like a kid dreaming of being an astronaut.
The more gritty truth that is seen or experienced, the more a person embraces realism. It's like that same kid growing up and realizing all the problems with that astronaut idea.

In the city, rural and suburban retards are kept away by the police, but in an open place like this board, there's nothing preventing rural and suburban retards from shitting up the place so you end up with people discussing how the Earth is flat and how global warming is a Jewish conspiracy or how the water makes the frogs gay.
