The argument that defunding Planned Parenthood doesn't stop abortions is true, but also kind of missing the point. The reason Planned Parenthood is being defunded is because a lot of politicians and the citizens they represent don't want their tax dollars to fund an organization which does abortions. Citizens shouldn't be forced to finance an optional medical service they disagree with morally/religiously - especially when alternatives to the procedure exist (like adoption). Defunding Planned Parenthood may affect POC, LBTQ and low-income people more than the rest of Americans - but that doesn't make the act of defunding the organization necessarily antagonistic to those groups. The reason Planned Parenthood is being defunded isn't some malicious effort to fuck over the gays and the poor - its an effort to spare American citizens from having to pay taxes towards procedures a majority disagrees with.
