Very few will publicly admit to their coworkers that they agree but an anonymous poll that conducted when I last checked had 200 responses and roughly 35% agreed with the document, 15% were neutral towards, 50% disagreed

A lot of the internal memes which have been trending are very hostile and nasty towards the author and misrepresent his points (standard SJW practice of course)

There's a mailing list set up to discuss the document and while probably the entire company has viewed it, only a handful of people are actively participating in open discussion.

Expressing conservative views (or not radically leftist views) can affect your career here and in Silicon Valley especially so it's absurdly risky for very little up-side to speak out in support of the document or the author.

Maybe I'm confusing DBA with database design, but one of my most difficult CS courses was databases. That said, managing databases in my real world projects is pretty easy, so I suspect there's a pretty big range of difficulty. Database Administration for most companies literally consists of nothing more than writing custom queries to look stuff up and mass update. The systems are so stable that there's little else to do.

The fact of the matter though is that programming is a sucker's bet. Last I checked get Hub has three times the contributors that Wikipedia does. Programmers have more people doing it for free then the rest of all other fields.

I wouldn't dream of competing against someone who does it for free. You would have to be an idealist sap to do so.
