Also, all the people who have moved into the Republican column, I don't see any way of the Democrats getting them back. Obama was a fluke, highly one-term senator charismatic who came in at just the right time. They have already played identity politics and feminism to its maximum, and they lost last year. Incumbent presidents are almost always reelected, and the Dems used their entire bag of tricks. I have no idea how they can expand their base at this point.

Another aspect of my solution is on a moral basis as well. There would have to be some intrinsic negative quality, i.e. being a leftist, for us to justify mass deportations.
