We already sorta live there. The elites fancy themselves philosopher kings and the entire media apparatus is designed to shape the minds of the populace. The question is whether this is a twisted version of Plato's thinking or a true manifestation of it.

Plato's republic isn't a tangible place. He just wanted to create an open-ended discourse within society in which anyone could make an argument for a political decision and, if no one else could disprove it, that would be the decision that was went with
