Haverhill fag, my family owned a pretty big dairy farm (until 1960~) and has been in this town since at least the early 1800s (house i grew up in was constructed in 1820ish). We had old photo albums at my old place filled with pics from Haverhill, Lawrence, Methuen from pre-WW2. Lawrence used to be a nice Italian town, great food, excellent place to shop, a lot of nice imports (my grandparents tell me). It really is a shame what happened to the city. The rural areas are still absolutely amazing. Woods to explore and hang out in, mostly white, more money than most places in the US, not far from other places in NE worth going to (1-2 hours to Boston, 1-3 hours to NYC, 1-2 hours to Providence, etc)
