Well most liberals have a giant hole in their head where "knowledge about racial difference" is supposed to go, and that fundamental delusion leads to all of reality getting distorted for them.
They see that the USA has a higher homicide rate than European countries. They see that the Americans they hate the most (red staters) have a cultural love for firearms, and that no such equivalent group exists in Europe. So they mistake the correlation for a causation because its politically convenient to do so (because fuck red states).
The homicide rate difference between the USA and Europe is actually almost entirely explained by demographic differences, but a liberal can't think this because it involves race

They don't believe in self defense. If self defense is allowed a criminal could get hurt. They view all violent scum as just misguided children in need of love and understanding. When one of them gets blown away it hurts their fee fees. It's like some weird mothering instinct that's gone totally haywire. They may be brain damaged or be infected with toxoplasma that renders them unable to perceive threats; only lovable children.

I'm pretty much a social liberal, and I don't hate guns. (maybe i'm more libertarian) Guns are objects, kinda silly to hate an object.

But hate what people do with them. I don't think an armed society is any safer than an unarmed one. I don't think guns protect you from a government because they just find other ways to oppress you. Humans make mistakes, a human with a gun can make a mistake that can cause tremendous damage and death.

Look up the number of defensive gun uses (DGU). America ha a nigger problem, not a gun problem. That said, I don't think that it's NECESSARILY true that one is safer in an armed society. However, when one is in a "multicultural" society it is wise to be armed. Guns are an equalizer, your wife can stop a nigger attack if need be if she has a gun. Otherwise, the police might show up just in time to file a nice little report about her rape and murder.

Pulling the trigger is the ultimate acceptance of responsibility and accountability. You can't rationalize away what happens, you can't cast blame, you have to own what you have done. And they don't want to ever have to do that. Thus they want guns under total government control so that should they every find themselves firing one, it's the government's fault.
