why do so many women have borderline personality disorder?

My guess would have to be the lack of parenting and the dissolve of the nuclear family. However, there are so many women in this country, in particular, that either know they have borderline or refuse to get treatment for it. In addition to that, 75% of the borderline cases out of the something 1.5% of those who have it, are women. Why is it that women are often diagnosed and not men?
