This is one of the most pathetic places on the internet. You people are posting here anonymously, because you know that if people would find out you support Assad, you would not have a job or any future of a good career left at all.
Most people here are edgy underage autists or pathetic manchildren that constantly post their retarded "Maghrebois" memes or have developed an obsession with Assad or someone Assad related. Assad has become a godlike person in their mentally ill mind. That is not even the saddest thing here. There are people who unironically think private companies (not even kidding here), such as JIDF and Shareblue, have been hired in order to derail their "epic" /sg/ threads. They unironically think they assisted Russia in locating and bombing rebels (kek!). We are talking about a level of delusion so severe that most people with these kind of symptoms cannot even provide for themselves. All in all, I think it's very likely some of the posters here suffer from paranoid personality disorder (ppd).
Honestly, if there was some kind of charity to which I could donate to that helps people like /sg/ posters, I would gladly do it.
As someone that has studied medicine and now is specializing in psychiatry, this general is very interesting. Because nothing is censored and therefore you can clearly see all the classic coping mechanisms and other mental gymnastics. Generalizing groups of people (Sunnis, Jews, Israelis, Kurds etc) and then blaming them for everything that is wrong with Syria and your own failures is one of those classic mechanisms
As a future psychiatrist, I already know that almost everyone can be helped, some more than others though. I hope this has been an eye opener. Seek mental help, seek professional help.

>Saudi Coalition commits another massacre in northern Yemen, 6 children among dead
BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:55 P.M.) – The Saudi-led Coalition has committed another massacre in northern Yemen after indiscriminately bombing the Sa’ada Governorate on Friday.
According to local activists, the Saudi-led Coalition killed at least nine people during the air raid, including six children from the same family.
The local activists added that the Saudi-led Coalition’s air raid on Friday struck the home of the Al-Thorafi family in the Mantha area of the Sa’ada Governorate.
The Saudi-led Coalition has constantly targeted the Sa’ada Governorate in the past due to the province’s proximity to the Saudi border-crossing into the Jizan Region.

>Syrian Army smashes jihadist offensive in north Hama: update
BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:50 P.M.) – Earlier today, jihadist militants of the Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) terrorist group, backed up by other unidentified militant factions, stormed Syrian Arab Army (SAA) positions in northern Hama Governorate.
The assault by HTS and its allies was launched at the hill of Tal Bizam and the strategic fortress town of Ma’an.
Initially, HTS, spearheaded by Ajnad al-Kavkaz force (a Chechen-led jihadist group), managed to capture four points from SAA. However within hours, the SAA counterattacked and re-secured all the positions it had lost.
In the process of doing this the SAA destroyed one tank and an armored personnel carrier (reported to be a BMP-1) belonging to HTS; furthermore, the SAA killed and injured 10 of the terrorist group’s jihadist fighters.
Sources are saying that the SAA has so far suffered three casualties (dead and wounded not specified) as a result of this attack.

>Syrian Army, allies recommence offensive in Syria-Jordan border region
BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:17 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies have restarted offensive operations against Free Syrian Army (FSA) militants operating in Syria’s southwestern desert region.
Today, the SAA and other pro-government forces advanced towards the Jordanian borders against FSA militants, securing the Dabiyah canyon area and its nearby hilltop as well as the Wadi al-Sawt canyon area; both sites are located south of the Zuluf Dam.
This comes renewed offensive effort by the SAA and its allies comes after FSA militants launched an attack on SAA positions in the area. The entire nature of the pro-government operation is retaliatory.
Thus far the SAA has advanced five kilometers today and military sources say that the offensive will continue until pro-government forces secure Syrian-Jordanian border area south of Dabiyah.

>Syrian, Russian jets eliminate scores of ISIL terrorists in Deir Ezzor
BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:20 P.M.) – The Syrian and Russian air forces unleashed a large number of airstrikes over the Deir Ezzor Governorate on Friday, targeting the Islamic State’s movements around the Panorama area.
Syrian and Russian air battalions flying out of Homs began their day by pounding the Islamic State’s main supply route from the Thayyem Oil Fields to the Thardeh Mountains.
Following the assault on the Thardeh Mountains, the Syrian and Russian air forces struck a large ISIL gathering near the Panorama School, killing and wounding scores of terrorists in the process.
According to a military source in Deir Ezzor, the Islamic State was gathering to carry out a new assault on the provincial cemetery after losing one of their most important supply routes to the village of Thardeh.

>Syrian Army retakes initiative in east Hama, recaptures lost points
BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:50 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) retook the initiative in the eastern countryside of the Salamiyah District, Friday, after losing several points to the Islamic State (ISIL) terror organization near the town of Al-Mafkar.
Led by the 11th Tank Division and National Defense Forces (NDF), the Syrian military managed to inflict heavy damage on the Islamic State’s positions near Al-Mafkar, forcing the aforementioned terrorist group to withdraw from the town’s perimeter.
With all points recaptured, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies began a cleansing operation to secure Al-Mafkar and eliminate any lurking terrorist combatants still hanging around the area.
The Syrian Arab Army will now shift their attention to the strategic town of ‘Uqayrbat, where they will look to expel the remaining Islamic State militants from this rural area in eastern Hama.

>Houthi forces retaliate against Saudi military in Jizan after recent coalition massacre in Saada
BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:00 P.M.) – The Houthi forces launched a powerful assault in the JIzan Region of Saudi Arabia on Friday night, following the Saudi-led Coalition’s massacre of civilians in Yemen’s Sa’ada Governorate.
Using their plethora of ATGMs, the Houthi forces rained missiles on several Saudi military posts in the Jizan Region, scoring a multitude of direct hits in the process.
In response to the Houthi attack, the Saudi-led Coalition launched several airstrikes over the Jizan Region and northern Yemen, targeting any potential threat near the border.
The Saudi Coalition began the day by carrying out a massacre in the Sa’ada Governorate of Yemen, killing at least nine civilians, including six children and three women.
The official media wing of the Houthi forces has issued a statement condemning the Coalition’s massacre.

response time. Should they ever want to go to war it makes a huge difference if they have to ship their shit over the atlantic/pacific first or if they're already at their doorstep. Also you have to keep your defenses on an equivalent level since it would take to long to mobilize when the enemy already has such a huge force concentration at your border.
And then there comes the deal of nuclear wargames, with bases of interceptors that could take out ICBMs in the boost phase blocking certain flight path for your fancy arsenal, which isn't nice either.

tectonic weapons are clickbait because no one even knows if that would work and programs like that would be classified anyways and not open to the public. What sense does a "cobalt bomb", ie a nuke specifically designed to create as much fallout as possible, make on a fucking torpedo? Every superpower on earth has "killer" sattelites, has been a thing since almost half a fucking century. "AI" weapons are reseached in any advanced nation on earth to reduce time delay between a drone detecting a potential target and the operator 1500 miles away giving order to engag. And russia is developing drones, who would've thought. They're actually behind in that area, as you can also see in syria they can't field a fast network of immediate and long range surveillance and attack drones like the US or even smaller states like israel or many EU countries.
Chemical weapons are not more recent than nukes, they're a lot older in fact. And both evolve. Who knows if there are even worse things than novichok agents around today, the race for better agents and countermeasures (mostly advanced decontamination and CBRN gear) stopped with the end of the cold war. Nukes and the systems around them are constantly improved, just at a slower rate than in the cold war. Just take the US updating their SSBN systems for example, the W76-1/Mk4A warhead has been referenced in shit tier clickbait news a lot in the past year or so, "superfuze" and whatnot. Improves the systems capability by a lot actually.

Well, you have to consider that the SAA is wary of ISIS booby traps in Sukhnah after what happened in Mosul, Raqqa, Ramadi, Tikrit, etc...
Salami, well, it's just difficult terrain.

but good for the russians the borders are tiny and pretty insinifcant

Russia has no way to counter that so they have buffer states

fwiw, I do think Trump has been kompromised, but that goes well beyond some Russian hookers. he married 2 women from Warsaw Pact, took hundreds of millions in Russian money, etc.
however, I don't think it stops with him. Trump is too obvious to be effective. Rather, I suspect he will be killed and replaced, perhaps with the real Manchurian - somebody who is politically acceptable to the left and the right; a national security hawk and socially liberal, a minority perhaps, maybe even the first Madame president...trained in Moscow
and with all the left's hostility neutralized with Trump's departure, the momentum would suddenly be on the other foot

ISIS attacked at the Salami front and took some posts but SAA has recaptured them. Al-tanf rebels have been ordered by US to lay down their arms but some have refused. Also some durkas broke the ceasefire agreement and have ambushed and killed some SAA soldiers probably NDF grunts I forget in which area though.

from the same wikipedia link
>"AI" weapons are reseached in any advanced nation on earth to reduce time delay between a drone detecting a potential target and the operator 1500 miles away giving order to engag
no you don't understand. in the next war there is no operator separate from the AI. the AI is the operator. have you played a fighting game where somebody is cheating? eg. using aimbot, speedhack, wallhack? same idea only also movement is automatically controlled with 360 degree "vision", etc. fucking nightmare

Indeed, it seems RuAF doesn't want to go full thermobaric on Suknah civilians, like USAF does with phosphorus in Raqqa, so slow infantry advance instead.
I wonder if they can afford that much manpower and still push to DeZ.
>>136160421
Yeah, hot as hell here too.
>ISIS attacked at the Salami front and took some posts but SAA has recaptured them
So they somehow threw Raqqa, Mosul and few other fronts back to DeZ but still want to hold on Salami and even launch attacks there? Really makes me wonder. Of course terrain elevation is favourable for them.

the problem is that Russia fear NATO invading Russia just like the USSR fear operation unthinkable
Russia learnt its lesson from WW 2 about attrition and giving up land in a war for long term gain

why did russia give the germans a state that became the strongest in the pact second only to the Union

I think everyone is exaggerating NATO. Sure our military should work on worst case scenarios, heck, it is their job. I personally view NATO as some sort of mafia who extort shekels for "protection". And Yugoslavia is a good example if anyone decide they do not need said "protection".
>>136160825

>>136160348
>I do think Trump has been kompromised
Okay well I disagree with that. I think thats purely Democrat narrative to discredit
It evolved from "election meddling" and now it became "Trump is Russian puppet", its all painfully obvious. Hillary campaign planners clearly took the route of presenting a stereotypical "outside threat" to rally voters. When that failed it became a Trump smear campaign instead.
>he married 2 women from Warsaw Pact

Some vague statements are no confirmation that such programs are actually in progress right now, nor that its a sound idea to begin with. Your idea about AIs in combat is way to simple.
Going through the water isn't any easier, and would be fucking useless for a weapon like that since you want to hit population centers. Besides that attacking population centers has become. If you want to understand why exactly that idea has become obsolete read "on limited nuclear war in the 21st century" by jeffrey larsen or "nuclear deterrence in the 21st century" by therese delpech. That's going to throw a lot of the other nuke related clickbait shit you spout out of the window too.
>you can't be serious
I am. What advancement became known to the public that best binary novichok agents dispersed as fine pulver? None. And after self decontaminating textiles there weren't any big advancements in terms of protection gear either, those have been around since the ~80s i think. Their adoption has stopped, and modern militaries hold very limited CBRN drills to begin with. If it was an immediate threat we would field equipment to deal with it.
