Not explaining the Second Amendment properly in schools was a mistake. Furthermore, my own experience confirms even JROTC instructors don't understand the Constitution or the Militia Act, as I recall getting into an argument with a few many years ago. They said the Second Amendment doesn't apply to everyone, that the National Guard is the only American militia, and thus who the Second is intended for. As expected of the chair force.

Our education programs should include classes on firearms. Proper respect and care for them, how to use them, and a bit of history on why the right is important to protect. Unfortunately, this would probably be a piss poor idea to implement with our current systems.
