They are Indo-Europeans and an Aryan tribe and they seem to be the most succesful and intelligent one in the Middle East, probably due to Indo-European genes and Zoroastrism until islam destroyed their culture.
So how did they lose their white skin colour while being a homogenous nation?

Persia's been a genetic melting pot for 5000 years, and it's not a given that the Aryans were pale white to begin with (probably more likely that it was a pre-Aryan European trait)
