Beard growth is not tied to testosterone levels per se, it's about your sensitivity to testosterone. You can hop on steroids and still not see any improvement if you have low sensitivity. It's just genetics.

I think it's an ethnic thing, or a mixed heritage thing where one doesn't generally have it. "Hispanics" tend to have patchy beards, at least the ones in the US, and I'm pretty sure the reason is in that the Native American/South American rape-baby half (who historically didn't really have any facial hair at all) is repressing it. Same story with part-Asians, from what I can tell. Keanu is a good example. I don't necessarily mean close mixed ethnicity though. My mom's family is German/Danish and my dad's is Scottish. Because of that I ended up getting the opposite effect. I started growing a beard around 15/16 and have to shave every single day to avoid my face getting covered in these max-tier wire-brush chin-stabbers that prick like hell when they get long enough to turn back around.
