It takes a lot of effort to brake into one of those deposit box places and the risk is higher than breaking into a home because the place will have better security and lawyers than the average home owner.

I guess as long as you don't use it to store illegal shit you should be OK.

The bank has a key they can use to open it, and when the bank is closed you have no access. Not exactly secure.
