he is entirely wrong. No one is claiming that alpha/beta males exist at a genetic level in humans. It's essentially the colloquial form of describing type A and type B personalities. Socially, alpha males do exist. Also, he merely stated that wolves and bonobos do not exhibit alpha behaviors. This does nothing to disprove this type of behavior in humans.

I disagree. Alpha males are more likely to be more eugenic than beta males. Generally they are stronger, healthier, smarter, and more attractive than their counterparts.

I think to be "alpha" goes past simply having an A personality type. True alphas are very rare, though I wouldn't call non-Alphas "betas" necessarily. You have the leaders of the herd, the herd, then those who can't keep up with the herd.
