Some people say Catholics in N.I could had achieved more and faster too through political means rather than taking up arms and bombing.
Maybe relations would had gotten better without the violence also, therefore prods could had loosened up.
Maybe the Troubles only prolonged the whole thing and made it harder for Catholics to get treated as a first class citizen and made a united Ireland further away than ever.
Maybe chimping out was not such a good idea in the long run.
And this is coming a Catholic btw, i am not a Protestant trying to have a go. One of my friends (fathers friend really but mine too) said the I.R.A were murdering bastards no better than the other side and today they are nothing but druggie scum. Sounds like some virtue signalling honestly, but it got me thinking about the whole thing.
