The only ones suffering that "struggle" and "oppresion" are borrokas and abertzales, both being turbolefties. I support wholeheartedly the vasque culture and history, being along the other tribes and kingdoms and counties an essential part of Spain and Iberia itself. They're not really serious about leaving Spain. ~60% voted to stay just a few weeks ago.

It's really a shame. Certainly my favorite place on Earth, but they will ruin it by being hyper-lefties. I just came back last Monday, after having spent 2 weeks. Went to a festival in a smallish town outside Bilbao and there was nothing but progressive propaganda everywhere every single day. Signs welcoming refugees, paintings of gays race-mixing (totally serious) and every hand-painted sign called for socialism, feminism and independence.

Truly a shame.

Well if you are truly oppressed, then sure, go for whatever you want. Increased rights, full autonomy, or even independence. But it might be the best to remain united but distinct at the same time. That makes you far stronger on the international scene but also allows you to retain your culture and language.
