What if Al Gore had won what was rightfully his in 2000.

>no Iraq War, which in turn, would mean a more stable Middle East without the current refugee mess
>he would have maintained the budget surplus from Clinton and the federal debt would be at 40% of what it is today
>no dumb deregulations to create the 2008 bubble
>the US and world would be seriously tackling global warming

The 2000 election will be a turning point in US History.

> no iraq war...
youre retarded.
the gulf war never ended, we only had a Cease Fire, contingent on saddam abiding by various conditions
saddam hussein had been flouting every line item on the cease fire since the day the cease fire was signed. his forces never even stopped shooting at coalition forces, which is kind of a big deal in cease fires.

only the weakness of GHW Bush, the monstrous graft and corruption of kofi anan, and the feckless cupidity of bubba clinton prevented the resumptions of hostilities

> clinton budget surplus
ha ha ha ha ha that ludicrous fiction was less believable than twilight.
only lefties are ecnomically illiterate enough to swallow that retarded lie.
all washington budget projections are ten years beyond their draft date, this one was idiotically myopic, assuming that the nasdaq bubble would continue expanding for all eternity, and pets dot com would continue to drive the new economy forever. there was never a surplus, clinton ran massive deficits every year.

> dem regulations caused recession..
clinton repealed numerous regulations for his bankster contributors and THAT caused the housing bubble, the nasdaq bubble and the inevitable collapse of the banking and auto finance systems

>I'm a millennial moron: the post

Tax reform of 1986 -- President Reagan and Ways and Means Chairman Danny Rostenkowski teamed up across party lines to reform the tax code, increasing revenues, eliminating loopholes.

Gramm-Rudman(-Hollings) -- threats of Sequestration (across the board spending cuts) held down the spending ceiling, though executive sequestration (though the Comptroller) was eventually held to be a violation of separation of powers and this unconstitutional

Bush Deficit Reduction Act of 1991 -- President Bush and Democrats came to a deal increasing taxes and cutting spending (conservatives today allege this spending wasn't cut, can someone confirm?)

Clinton Road to Surplus

By the time President Clinton assumed the office, he inherited a trajectory from Presidents Reagan, Bush (would be more noticeable without the Gulf War) and Congressional Democrats for a diminishing national deficit--a good position but certainly no guarantee.

From there, working with Congressional Dems until 1994, then Republicans in the House, he increased marginal tax rates, cut military spending as a 'peace dividend, cut welfare spending through reforms with Speaker Gingrich.

Note he did not massively cut social spending, state aid, or federal workers. Or use the improving trajectory as an excuse to cut taxes on the wealthy. Ahem.

Near the end of his term, the economic boom was so strong--to be fair, no strong correlation to his policies, according to modern economic theory, as government has a primarily counter cyclical role--combined with the higher marginal rates, money poured into government coffers.

By 2000, on the cusp of the Bush presidency, the annual budget deficit had been replaced by a surplus, though the federal debt only had a short time of reduction before the fiscal disaster of the Bush presidency began.

>+what was the dot com boom?

Dems ALWAYS take credit for what they didn't accomplish - it's the only way they ever stay in power.

Previously the top individual tax rate of 31% applied to all income over $51,900. The Act created a new bracket of 36% for income above $115,000, and 39.6% for income above $250,000.[2]
Previously, corporate income above $335,000 was taxed at 34%. The Act created new brackets of 35% for income from $10 million to $15 million, 38% for income from $15 million to $18.33 million, and 35% for income above $18.33 million.[3]
The 2.9% Medicare tax had previously been capped to apply to only the first $135,000 of income. The cap was removed.

The portion of Social Security benefits subject to income taxes was raised from 50% to 85%.[4]
The phaseout of the personal exemption and the limit on itemized deductions were permanently extended.
The AMT tax rate was increased from 24% to tiered rates of 26% and 28%.[5]

How cute. You think that the Iraq war wouldn't have happened if Gore was elected? You think he actually wants to fight global warming? (follow the trail of money that brought global warming to his conscious and look at his actual actions). You think someone could've stopped the recession and that surplus would have been maintained? Your naivety is ripe.

You're retarded if you believe iany of that. He'd have just been another globalist puppet like Obama.

No 9/11. Bush was provokable. They would not have trolled Gore with 9/11.

Gore would have been Megafederal Open Borders Environmental UN censor the Net and Vidya boy.

Antifederalist antiglobalist would grow in numbers.

This would be Titor's timeline where time fungeneers did not intervene in FLA 2000 election to prevent Gore's presidency.

Civil war between countryside and cities with Nukes and Russia saving the day.

They don't, the Jews involved with globalism really could give a shit, they're such powerful transnationals that can go anywhere in the world and do whatever the fuck they want, Israel is just another country to them.

no Iraq but we would have probably seem a North African "Berber Spring," shit going down in Eastern Europe, and a lot of peacekeeping blue helmet shit in Africa.

NATO Coalition interventions.

let's investigate this more...

- 9/11 still happens
- housing bubble still bursts

Afghanistan is invaded. No Iraq invasion.

Bill Clinton liked chucking cruise missiles at slavs, Africans, and Saddam.

2008 goes to a Republican because economy fails with Democrat president at the wheel.

GOP president pays for unemployment benefits by cutting social welfare. Blames housing bubble on Democrats and big government.

Haha, how old are you? Do you not remember? The CIA literally said there were no terrorists in Iraq and it wasn't a threat. Bush's people kept hammering on them. The CIA again said there were no terrorists in Iraq and it wasn't a threat. Wash and repeat about 10 times. Finally the CIA says there is a threat under pressure and we go to war. Gore would have never gone into Iraq.

The Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were already in the works prior to 9/11. In fact, equipment started moving towards Afghanistan prepping to invade before 9/11 even happened. It was going down regardless.
Gore won Florida, but TPTB figured Bush would make a better wartime leader and have more military support.
