No laws were altered or appealed, no supreme court ruling and no parliament has restricted any powers from the Monarch officially since 1707 so all of the Queen's Prerogative powers to Assent to law, dissolve/prorogue parliament, Queen's consent, etc, remain in place. You don't understand that what you are advocating is to appeal a millennia old system which formed every aspect of our law and constitutional framework. Not only did the Crown build the nation of England, Scotland and Wales - it shaped the modern world and all those that spawned from the British Empire. Our law which is set upon Magna Carta, Habeaus Corpus, Provisions of Oxford, West Minister, Bill of Rights 1689, Act of Union, etc, were all born from the Crown. The modern perception of liberty was born from our parliamentary-monarchical system and what you neglect to answer is the fact now the Prime Minister holds more power than any king or queen ever had in history. Britain has, arguably never, followed a form of absolutism but certainly not since the 13th century which is when parliament first convened.

You should do research our constitution. The Crown is a seperate institute to the reigning monarch and is, in theory, supreme. No public assembly and no court in Britain can remove its place. The reigning monarch is not absolute in its placement, but it is from him/her all powers derive from. Just 200 years ago, the population of Britain was about 10million. In 1689 (BoR) the population was 5 million. When the Magna Carta was signed, the population was just 3.5million. Monarchies work for smaller populations, they don't for large populations.

Restoring total power to the Crown would be great if the Crown was on the side of the country. That might not be the case, it's very likely, in fact, that it wouldn't be the case and has happened plenty of times through history. What happens if the Crown has absolute power and decides the country needs to be filled with Somalians? You stage a coup? You behead the Queen and take over? Not going to happen, not now. Parliament is supposed to be a representative, peaceful (as far as can be) system of governance and it has been pretty successful in that aspect.
