So, I'm an esperantist.
But I also am extremely nationalistic.
What is /pol /'s view on esperanto?
Meme language that's a waste of time to learn. If you actually want to learn something useless but interesting try Ithkuil or Lojban.

Esperanto works for Eurofags who are trying to form a competitive economic bloc and have inherent language barriers, but who may not want to surrender to English language dominance.
Just bow down to your American English overlords, since you're posting in English anyways.

Constructing a language to be easy to learn so everyone has a common second language is an interesting idea, but Esperanto was not very competently executed and therefore lacked practical value. It never gained any real traction as a standard, but it claimed enough mindshare to suppress better efforts.
The whole thing where people worried that they'd be pushed to speak Esperanto as a first language and it was the thin end of the wedge for International Communism or a One World Government was a bit silly. However, I can see the point that it would be an obstacle to assimilation of immigrants.
