this belongs in /fin/ probably (sage'd). but the trick is to stay in the market long term. And not fuck around with trading. make an investment and make it long term. after 15 years you will most likely have a gain. Anyone that didn't sell their stock and kept buying during recessions and depressions ended up on top when the market restarted. People just investing now because of the improved economy will be likely disappointed. I rapped up my 401k after the 2008 recession "crash". and bought cheap.
