Women generally do have a higher amount of body fat, but just like men they have normal ranges which you only leave if you overeat. They do not magically produce fat out of thin air.

Unless you have a severe metabolic defect (and no, they don't - because without appropriate medical supervision they would already be dead if they did), just eating less will always lead to weight loss.
