no and no
First of all, "aztecs" is an incorrect term. Aztecs refers to those who came from Aztlan, the legendary city or kingdom from were all of their forefather came from, also known as Tula.
In that sense, every tribe and kingdom from mesoamerica was "aztec" but even tho they had similar cultures and systems of belief, they were not all the same and they had their own names.
The Mexicas for example, were the "Aztecas" that had power over most of the other kingdoms.

Second, they didn't kill people to please the gods. for the mesoamericans peoples, the red, the blood, was a sacred water, a sacred water that gave life to everything that is alive.
During certain moments of the year, in july and december, the sun gave the appearence of stoping on the horizon, before start "moving" again, which is the same as being dead.
So, to fix that, they poured the water of live on the earth with hopes of giving life tot he sun once again to continue his cicle. Those who were sacrificed, often were members of the nobility, or were bron on specific dates that made them special people with special blood, and they willingly let their hearts be pulled out of their chest while alive.
But lets be honest, they also sacrificed slaves, but most of the slaves, sharing the same culture and religin, were pleased to be the blood that was going to give the creation another cicle of life.

You can not even fathom how complex and different theyr world view was nor how mathematically precise was their cosmology

For them, earth was a reflection of the sky. as above, so below, that is why Tehotihuacan had four fucking water reservoirs the size of 2x4 kms in complete calm that reflected the sky like a huge mirror

also, if somedoy wants to know more just ask, I have been learning a lot about mesoamerican peoples and history and languages and cultures and know more than anyone in here probably

just in what we now call the pyrimid of the sun, in teotihuacan, there are more than 30 registered or known astronomical phenomenons. they knew that Jupiter's alignment with Saturn occurs at intervals of just under 20 years. The aspect is occasionally repeated due to a retrograde of one or both planets. Each successive conjunction (not counting retrograde repeats) occurs at a mean advance of approximately 243 degrees relative to its predecessor; although from one alignment to the next this arc can vary considerably. Every third conjunction - once every 60 years - brings the alignment back to its starting place, plus around 9 degrees: this 60 year cycle is termed the first order recurrence of the conjunction. Every 40th conjunction - roughly once every 800 years - brings the alignment back to within about 1 degree of its starting place: this approximate 800 year cycle is termed the second order recurrence, astrologically known as the Great Mutation cycle.

They, without known written language, passed down unto their decendants this knwoledge, among many more, relatd to the sky, because knowing this would be of utmost importance for cultivating and growing food.

if you doubt me, you can go and check it on twiter pal, I'm not trying to convince anyone tbhfamalam

The Mayas and "Aztecas" had similar cultures and gods and shared a lot of political and religious power.

For example, nobody knows who build Teotihuacan. Not even the first "aztecas" that discovered it, so they called it the city of the gods or the city were men became gods.
Acording to the most recent archaelogical findings, Teotihuacan was build from zero with absolute precision and planification. the whole fucking city was designed, from the huge pyrims, to the tallest temples and astronomic observatories, to the residential area, the sewer system, the streets, the market squares, the slums for the poors, etc, all of it had a meaning, all of the buildings and roads represent the movement of the stars and the planets in different times of the year.

We know for example that Teotihuacan was habitated by many peoples, we know that Mayas had their own neigborhoods, given how these houses were painted with more selvatic motives and their wals displayed Mayan glifs, that is, mayan written language.
The city seems to have been ruled by some sort of council of four great lords, each of one represented a clan or family, which lived and ruled over a different sector of the city.

The Jaguar people, the Eagle people, the Snake people and the other one I can't remember, I think it was the coyote people.

IT seems that in one moment this balance of power went to hell and everyone started fighting each other, but acording to the murals and their evolution, the jaguar, the coyote and the eagle were represented in fighting with the snake, so it is suspected by archeologists that these thre houses waged war ont he house of the snake because they somehow threatened them, maybe by wanting more power for themselves or something like that.

No, it was more like "holy shit if we do not pass onto future generations our knowledge in the form of rituals, stories and buildings and a whole system of belief, our civilization will be lost forever."

Also, just to be clear, not everyone sacrificed people, many kings refused to sacrifice people and instead they just killed animals or released pigeons or eagles or things like that. it was just a moment, aritual, to remember or conmemorat a certain time of a certain cicle, it was their only way to knowing they were not just animals, but that they also had some power over nature by predicting it and using it to their advantage

Well, but it is true, life in Africa used to be easy lvl compared to Europe 6000 years ago so they didn't develop much. Europe's geography looks like evolutionary playground with all the rivers, lakes, mountains, islands, plains, fjords. In Africa you can just walk a bit and live easy life, in Europe you have to adapt to your current environment, or get killed by nearby tribe.

this guy right here, was the Hitler of his time.

>Tlacaelel I (1397[1] – 1487) was the principal architect of the Aztec Triple Alliance and hence the Mexica (Aztec) empire. He was the son of Emperor Huitzilihuitl and Queen Cacamacihuatl, nephew of Emperor Itzcoatl, and brother of Emperors Chimalpopoca and Moctezuma I.

>During the reign of his uncle Itzcoatl, Tlacaelel was given the office of Tlacochcalcatl, but during the war against the Tepanecs in the late 1420s, he was promoted to first adviser to the ruler, a position called Cihuacoatl in Nahuatl, an office that Tlacaelel held during the reigns of four consecutive Tlatoque, until his death in 1487.

>Tlacaelel recast or strengthened the concept of the Aztecs as a chosen people, elevated the tribal god/hero Huitzilopochtli to top of the pantheon of gods, and increased militarism. In tandem with this, Tlacaelel is said to have increased the level and prevalence of human sacrifice, particularly during a period of natural disasters that started in 1446 (according to Durán). Durán also states that it was during the reign of Moctezuma I, as an invention of Tlacaelel that the flower wars, in which the Aztecs fought Tlaxcala and other Nahuan city-states, were instigated.

>To strengthen the Aztec nobility, he helped create and enforce sumptuary laws, prohibiting commoners from wearing certain adornments such as lip plugs, gold armbands, and cotton cloaks. He also instigated a policy of burning the books of conquered peoples with the aim of erasing all memories of a pre-Aztec past.

>When he dedicated the seventh reconstruction of the Templo Mayor in Tenochtitlan, Tlacaelel had brought his nation to the height of its power. The dedication took place in 1484 and was celebrated with the sacrifice of many war captives. After Tlacaelel's death in 1487, the Mexica Empire continued to expand north into the Gran Chichimeca and south toward the Maya lands.

Did a bit of reading and the chariot was invented before the wheelbarrow. Meaning the use of chariots helped developed the invention of the wheelbarrow. I can't imagine that the Aztecs, incas ect. had much use for chariots in jungle and mountains. So could be one reason why the idea never came around.

No, the actually had schools of priests and astronomers and mathematicians and architects and such and they kept the knowledge alive for generations.

The mayas had a written language, one from which the other mesoamericans used as a base after, and a language that is believe to be developed first by the Olmecas something like 1000 years before christ.

Do you know what the White Quetzalcoatl is? It is a title, a title that was granted to only one man alive among all. He who wielded this title, had to be an ubersmench, he had to be a genius in every aspect of knowledge, but also of the spirit. he had to be a good person, yet a strong person able to wage war, a warrior without rival and a sage.

He was given a "crown" of 400 feathers of Quetzal, which is 20x20, being 20 the base number they used, and being 400 a word for "infinite" or "many"

One of the most famous Quetzalcoatl was Ce Acatl Topiltzin

Every White Quetzal was supposed to carry the duty to advance humanity forward.

The first quetzal supposedly was the one wo started palying with the genetics of corns and he developed a method to obtain different varieties, which led to the agricultural revolution in the americas

they were not conquered by the spanish, they were conquered because 1: they were not a unified empire, but rather feudal kingdoms in constant conflict with each other, and 2: because many of these kingdoms didn't want to be vassals of the Mexicas anymore so they just joined the spanish.

Just so you can have an idea, acording to the diary of Cortéz himself, the spanish led a final brave and glorious cavallry charge against the hordes of savages capturing their king right there, but in reallity, and acording to, like, all the other sources, being these sources native nobles and catholic priests, at least 10.000 natives were aiding Cortéz in that battle, since cortéz got Moctezuma but then he was traped in the island city of Mexico Tenochtitlan.

this doesn't mean that the mexicas were good boys, they had been oppressing everyone with their shitty taxes and captivs and being all hurrr durrr we wuz superior warriors we are the sons of the sun, the left handed Hummingbird and bla bla bla. they basically subjugatd everyone by force, and then they were subjugated by the spanish by force.
they didn't complain, they aknowledged it when Cuauhtémoc, brother of Moctezuma and last emperor, was captured in battle by cortéz men and when cortéz asked him tu surrender the city and the lands he just asked back "which lands? we don't have any lands, we only had the spear and the macanas, the arrow and the dart, and you have taken those away from us, now we have nothing"

Moctezuma even told Cortéz that he was the new boss now, but that he couldn't stay in Tenochtitlan because the natives were really mad and would revolt, and that after moctezumas death he could asume the throne, but cortéz just didn't care and wanted more blood, he wasn't even a smart conqueror, he could have had the city and the lands without so much death, but again he didn't care, for him all of them were beasts and

Way to tired to debate this but you can't possibly think that the chariot had absolute no influence on the design of the wheelbarrow. It was around many years prior with the same concept in mind.

> Another reason why the idea never came around was a culture with a lack of ideas.

I imagine being able to trade different concepts and ideas with a bunch of different cultures as opposed to being isolated might have some impact on technology development.

the typical mesoamerican slum houses in a city state were made of stone and wood. houses in other areas like villages and small towns were made of wood and sometimes stone. the material doesn't matter as much as the standard of living.

for fucks sake, they literally created lakes and moved rivers just to have water reservoirs. they had fucking island-cities as capital of their empires that were like floating gardens.

They decorated the stone walls of their houses with beautiful scenes and glyfs

they had many architectonic styles and resources, like the Mayan Arch which was their own way of solving a problem the same way the Roman Arch did.

their level of abstraction and in the design and planification of cities is unvelibable. not a single thing was casually built, everything had a meaning, a reason to be were it was, everything was measured and aestetically approved.

For example, in Teotihuacan, as you enter from the road of the deads, you can see a mountain behind the pyramid of the sun, but as you advance, the mountain is replaced by the pyramid, which is not actually a pyramid, but rather a set of plataforms one over the other, and when you reach the base of the pyramid, the building sourroning it, allways as you walk, represent the palnets venus and the moon as they go up and down in the sky.

Below the pyramid there is a tunel of several hundred meters long which used to be used as a trial of initiation for nobles and warriors and priests, they entered under the effects of some cactus and only those who managed to overcome their depest fears and insecurities could finish it without having a psychotic break.

it was such a complex society that you do not deserve to call yourself a human being, just throwing shit to other group of humans because of "reasons" is so retarded and childish

a city of 200.000 people 2000 years ago with that level of engeneering is like 1 out of five in humanity's history
