Burger bro here. Have a week off in September and I'm trying to go on a vacation to Europe where it's actually still European. Obviously, Poland is my first choice, also considering Slovenia, Estonia, and Finland.
I've seen the memes that speaking English in Poland will get you beat. is that true? I'm a pale blue eyed Catholic. I always learn a few phrases before traveling but by no means will i be able to hold a conversation beyond asking where yo shit (one phrase I won't have to learn if I ever travel to india).
Any recommendations on which cities to go? what to see? I'm wanting to try some foods, tall to some Qts, maybe some cold war history and military history related things.

try not to smell anything or look at the landscape or architecture or people
Warsaw is a meme. Go to Krakow. Also don't buy burger food there. Eat the real polish food not McDonald's. Also don't trust anyone who isn't white. Don't call soccer soccer, polaks see soccer as a religion. Have fun and drink a lot.
