As someone who was assigned to Iraq throughout 2006-2008 I'll tell you that we didn't really 'destroy' any Muslims. By 2011 we only killed 26,000 insurgents out of 8 years of fighting. That's practically nothing if you compare it to the Mosul Campaign, Raqqa Campaign or many of the other fronts being waged in Syria and Iraq at the moment.

Also most ISIS leadership were detained in US military prison camps...we let them all go because of our weak policies. And on top of that, much of their initial heavy and light vehicles were US military equipment we sold to the Iraqi's. Let's face it, we're not really fighting against Muslims. If we were, we wouldn't be trying to oust Assad who's going against hardline Sunni's which we supported by giving them weapons...many of which work in cooperation with Al-Qaeda. I knew people who died from attacks from Al-Qaeda in Iraq in the mid 2000's via road side bombings. It does disgust me that it was all for nothing.

I can't blame you though, you're probably 14 years old, watch Fox News, feel that Israel is your greatest ally. I, like you, thought all of this to at your age.

It's been this way since Vietnam for the US military.

I'll tell you one story I had with my platoon back when I was servicing. One of our soldiers misplaced his ammoclip for his handgun, sounds like a no biggie, but ultimately as punishment, we were all collectively punished to be locked in a large room to sleep on a concrete floor with no pillows for the entire weekend. I don't think they do this anymore, because a mother got mad at this and railed up a storm with a lawyer, it got minor attention but people like President Obama really stripped out discipline in the military. Glad I left the military by 2010.
