Wouldn't it be great to fight together?
We have common objectives and desires after all.

I hear you, man. We could have permanent manned installations on Mars by now if nationalism wasn't perpetuating war, discord and backwardsness.

Dumbie Dumb Dumb

OP on another device here.
I'm fine with nationalism, but we could mold it to include all 7 billion of us. If we could mobilise everyone under a flag, with war being a distant memory, we could accomplish so many things.
>>135674956
It's not worth the cost in lost infrastructure, human life and most importantly the threat of nuclear war.
That is, unless it was a legitimate noble cause. Unfortunately that has never been the case.
>>135670430
Yes we could all take turns killing niggers
>>135675905
>It's not worth the cost in lost infrastructure, human life and nuclear war
>every war is the same
>every war brought the same exact result to every nation of the world
Why do you think nuclear power exists in first place? Why do you think Internet exists? Why do you think rockets exist? Why do you think we have been on the moon?

No, we do not. If you are a totalitarian, a socialist, an atheist, or any religion besides Christianity, you are my enemy.

Giseppe, I think what anon is trying to say it that war is not a necessary stimulus for technological advancement. CERN was funded independent of any conflict. Don't you think it would be better to fund science without conflict?
>>135670430
Yeah I can imagine...
>Alright open fire on those brown skinned freaks
>Alright cease fire
>I said cease fire
>CEASE FIRE
>GOD DAMN IT CEASE FIRE
>...
>Alright just keep shooting them until you run out of ammo
>>135676307
Only two of those are direct consequences of war, the other two are military technologies developed during peacetime.
The resources spent fighting are better spent building infrastructure, funding research and in economic ventures.

One of my favorite levels in any game is when China and America team up to defeat the terrorists. Wish I could play it fuck.

Nationalism is what got us to space, if it wasn't for nationalism we would never have landed on the moon.
>>135677721
I am, to some degree, a socialist. Most people on this world are.
The free market and the rich will always exist. This is an undeniable fact. Plus, they've got huge benefits to their existence. But they do bring some problems that only the state can fix, as much as libertarians would like to think otherwise.
>>135678288
Had the situation been different with a scientifically focused leadership and the threat of a competing superpower not being so omnipresent, a moon landing could have been achieved just as easily.
>>135679019
You're never going to get scientifically focused leadership unless you have some kind of fascist government installed or you have an enemy to compete with.
>>135679387
Or you live in a peaceful world where the two options are:
>scratch your balls until an asteroid hits the planet
and
>look up
It's the "peaceful world" part we're trying to accomplish here. By any means necessary.
>>135675173
>everyone under a flag
Who's flag?
>war being a distant memory
The end goal of pretty much every war ever.
This isn't a case of "unite everyone to fix everything". You need to fix everything before you can unite everyone. Fixing everything would cause a war because we'd get bored though.
>>135679767
And how is a world government going to accomplish that? All empires have fallen, all attempts to unify the people under one culture have failed, and I'm not willing to attempt to create something so unnatural that would only result in scientific stagnation and likely a totalitarian government.
>>135670430
Nope I would my entire squad in their sleep. Trust me you don't me in your squad. I would also do funny things with your dead bodies.
>>135670430
Fight against what?
>>135670430
You cannot unite more than 80%. You need space for (human) waste. Also that means one government. Now that's some insane level corruption if it comes to live. There are people who are problematic. All shitskins should be destroyed, and all interest groups should be destroyed for this. You have to get rid of the unworthy and the ones with deception. After that, maybe, but nothing more than a broderhood of nations is desirable. The lack of free competition of government will fuck things up more than some local. war.
>>135679964
>Who's flag?
Well, Humanity's of course. Any flag reliant on ethnicity or culture is bound to get destroyed in a civil war before you can blink your eye. Only an empire which prides itself as human in nature could possibly survive controlling the world.
>The end goal of pretty much every war ever.
As long as nation-states exist in full independence, even hegemonic ones, war will continue to exist.
>You need to fix everything before unification.
We can never fix everything though. The bad thing about humanity is that we've always got a problem ahead of us. A world united in purpose, however, can focus ridiculous amounts of resources to fix the most critical of issues much faster than any alliance or treaty could ever imagine to.
>>135674956
>he doesn't realize war halts science, the economy, and progress in space exploration
Dummy alert dummy alert.
>>135680351
It doesn't have to be totalitarian nor unified in culture. A democracy would work, although in my personal preference I'd like an emperor. The right to bear arms would discourage sudden attempts at installing tyranny. It's really a question of how well the first leader can set a foundation for a stable, long-lasting empire.
On the issue of culture, it really is a problem. But if we can make most people feel they are part of this, that they are surprisingly similar to each other, we will have a new identity that will keep this dream alive.
don't worry, once project blue beam kicks off and the fake aliens attack we'll finally have the oppresive one world government tyranny you've always wanted op!
>>135682994
Freedom is essential IMO.
What's the purpose of unification if over half the world is constantly in rebellion all the time?
>>135670430
Given past precedent, I think the only way to truly unite humanity into a single force would be an outside enemy.
Terran Empire when brothers?

Of course the 85 IQ subhuman african that can't write his name has the same goal as the European people.

Yes, actually.
Not 100% the same, that's absolutely impossible, but extremely close.

>>135686388
Considering how much you spew out that old meme, I'd argue the same.
An African man and an European man are not too different, They wish the best for their country and work for a better life for themselves and their children. They feel the same love and the same hate. They have ambitions and wishes that can easily overlap.
>>135687082
>An African man and an European man are not too different, They wish the best for their country
The african man struggles to comprehend the concept of a country. Sometimes you need to go out of your white upper class neighbourhood.
>>135687082
>They wish the best for their country and work for a better life for themselves and their children. They feel the same love and the same hate. They have ambitions and wishes that can easily overlap.
Literally none of that is true.
You're retarded if you don't realize that all humans have essentially the same objectives. You've all been convinced by propaganda that your way of life/beliefs are somehow different and superior. What the fuck do you think the ultimate goal of capitalism, socialism, fascism, communism, Christianity, Islam, any political or religious belief system is? To provide the best way of life for all.
Splitting people up like that is the easiest way to maintain power over them. Think about somewhere like North Korea. 99% of their citizens would be incredibly better off if they were under the government of South Korea or China. Yet the leaders of North Korea would never willingly acknowledge that their way of life/governing is flawed because then they would have to give up power. The more they can split humanity into small groups like this, the more people that can get in power and take advantage of them. Nationalism is the ultimate power play, globalism is the path to true freedom.
