Typically if there's a homeless man by a McDonald's or the like I get them something. I'm doing pretty well for myself and if spending a buck gives them a hot meal then fuck it. They always seemed grateful, at least, god bless etc.

Homeless Gypsies are disgusting. The other kind though is quite different - those with homes I mean. My dad used to have a business and one of his laborers was a Gypsy... Every night after work they would drink beer together. My dad found out he beats his wife afterwards, so he told him one night that if he continues to do that they would not be pals anymore. Almost 10 years later that guy is a family man, supports his family and gets along with his wife.

I don't know much about Indian culture so there may be some connection. Religion-wise they mostly conform with the home country. Their customs are mostly related to family - Gypsy weddings are the most famous part probably. In those weddings you may see ornaments that look "Indian" but other than superficial similarity I cannot tell for certain.
