The simple answer is that each subreddit is a circlejerk, if you disagree with what the majority of the people believe, you'll get downvoted to shit or even banned.

Also there are big subreddits like r/PoliticalHumor, r/DankMemes, r/Movies, r/Funny etc that are terrible but get onto r/All everyday
