This is going to sound very Metal Gear Solid, but for some of the soldiers, war will be the only thing they know. Is it realistic or outlandish to assume that there will be many of these rebels who are disgruntled at the prospect of peace - and wish to continue fighting - who will therefore not care about who they're fighting or fighting for, and will join a prospective civil war against the Maduro regime? You mentioned about the would-be rebels obtaining weapons from Colombia. If this does turn into a civil war, it seems to me that former FARC rebels will be the quickest way to mobilise and organise anti-government forces.
