I see allot of outright misinformation and complete immaturity so I am going to answer your question.
First of all - do you understand that you , no matter how decent a person you are - have done or will do some type of evil in life ?
Do you understand that God is a being of absolute righteousness , goodness and justice whom hates evil , injustice and all things such ?
If you do understand that - then when you die and stand before your judge how will you enter into His eternity where truth , justice , kindness and love exist without evil of any kind ?
The fact is you can't and therefore you cannot stand in the presence of that perfection as there is no place for it there and you will be eternally separated from life , from joy , from light and eternal life with God - in perpetual darkness, pain and torment eternally.
Then what can you do to "be good enough" - nothing , and that is why there is JESUS.
If you then agree that 1. You ARE a sinner
2. That God is Holy
then the answer is admitting to God in prayer that you are a sinner and without hope - and then you ask that Jesus will save you and give you His Holy Spirit.
When you have done that in truth - God sends The Holy Spirit to indwell your soul and He teaches you over time , how to live your new life in Christ.
Over time , your sinful ways will go into remission , and you will be a different person. You will still do wrong from time to time but you will not be separated from God because of it ever again , however if you are TRUELY saved , your new nature will teach you through those mistakes and you will repent as opposed to living without conscious.
You don't need a priest , a preacher , etc - just get down before Holy God and ask for forgiveness and salvation - tell God that you believe that JESUS was given to mankind to forgive sin and only through Him can salivation be made - that you believe in Christ with all your hart and mind and want to be saved.
Then ask God to lead you to a church .
