You should look at what's happening in Nigeria, pretty much all the countries natural resources have been privatised by western companies like Shell etc and the local population receives no benefit or compensation from it. They pay off government officials to vote in favour of it.

It leads to terrible conditions as the oil industry has completely destroyed the Niger Delta, the land and water is covered in oil so nothing can grow and all the fish are dead, it forces the population into satan's anus, otherwise known as Lagos and breeds extremism out of desperation.

Actually white farmers were able to make it work so no.

African is why and we did but then we had a couple of world wars followed by an anti-colonialism movment, we'll be back if the Chinese keep building there and force us to have a more local presence in order to compete for the resources. After a decade or two experiencing rule under the PRC they will be downright welcoming to western settlements and influence, for a time at least.
I'd like to just leave them alome but increased chinese influence in the region makes that impossible, it would eben be nice if african countires could get their own shit together but that seems highly unlikely. We're going to have to drag them into the future and a better quality of life kicking and screaming and they will be ungrateful as ever.
