Pound has been going down for years, its acc good for the economy. For alot of the 90s and 00s different asian countries fought to devalue their currencies as much as possible, it gives a discount to your exports for foreign buyers and boosts manufacturing. The country was just fine with high non-white immigration before the 2004 EU enlargement, stagnant average incomes followed the massive increase in poor immigration from E. Europe(compared to the non-EUs who are relatively well educated - apart from the small number of refugees).
