The Electoral college was one of the checks implemented against the tyranny of the majority. The U.S. is a representative republic. Which means that we do not use direct democracy methods to determine the most well suited president. As such, arguing "MUH POPLAR VOTES" just shows that you don't understand the very system you are attempting to criticize.
