The Thalmors needs to be killed off and the best way of doing so is by siding with the Stormcloaks
That way the empire doesn't gain another province which won't help the Thalmor
What they want is for the war to continue so the empire wastes resources on it and so that the Stormcloaks will also have depleated their resources on the civil war.
That way it will be easier for them to take over later on

If you side with the Stormcloaks you will get a nation that is very nationalistic and ready to die for their nation when the Thalmors arrive and tries to take it
You will also have the support of the Redguards in Hammerfell that is also against the empire, which is a good thing.

If you side with the Empire you will just be another Thalmor puppet that will serve them
Do you really think that banning Talos worship is the first step of killing off the human race?
No they will continue and they won't let the Empire have a large army, so they can't fight back

Siding with the Stormcloaks is the best option if you aren't a disgusting globalist
