People always say "look at South Korea compared to North Korea as proof that pro-American capitalism works" which I find odd because South Korea is literally hell on earth.
50% of the elderly population lives in abject poverty. There are Brazil-tier slums outside of all the major cities. Corporations control the government. There is zero independent media. The country was a dictatorship just as bad as North Korea up until the 90s, just with no pretense of socialism. It's hard to find a more miserable brainwashed people on earth than Koreans.
