i read Way of the White Clouds by Lama Govinda, Magic and Mystery in Tibet by David Neel, and Seven Years in Tibet by Heinrich Harrer in high school, fairly mind blowing desu.

It appears that it served as a protective vessel for a very different psychic atmosphere that was probably more advanced in many ways than our present degenerate scientific nihilism
