As a non-michigan, he seems like a shoo-in for my state. That said, I have no idea what the political climate of michigan is really like.

I think this trend of voting in celebrities is a very important social experiment. The lawyers that we're accustomed to have been letting us down for decades. Is the normal career path and personality of your average career politician to blame, or does the deep state corrupt you when you get elected into office? Or in other words, if politically unconnected populists turn to the dark side within a term of getting elected, we'll know that the government is rotten to the core and it's time to "repeal and replace" them all with extreme prejudice

Also, the thought of liberals squirming in agony if someone like kid rock got elected makes it all worth it.

Thanks to the past decade of political bullshit infecting every aspect of life, my entire political belief system has just become shitposting in real life about what I think would be the funniest outcome.
